3 spiral ridges + column 2nd + 3rd largest
Melo tesselata spine scarcely
projecting, row of spines sharply
curved inwards toward spine. Largely
white, 4 of 5 spec [specimens] no spots.
Melo aethiopica variously centered
Spine various, either recessed or
projecting 2 ridges + column, second larger
sometimes a 3rd low one above.
Spines slightly curved inward
Upper Margin of aperture sometimes
flaring to above spine. Spines 12-15
in whorl - about uniform.
Melo amphora varied in form
Spine usually recessed. Spines about
5 in whorl. enlarging rapidly
Strikingly variegated 2 ridges
