- Westwick Lake Sunday June 12, 1955
Weather: fine - wispy clouds in the
afternoon. A rain cloud blew over
to the south, but missed us. Max. [Maximum] 80 [degree symbol]
Tim walked around Sorenson in
the morning and Nancy [Mahoney] watched
grebes. In the afternoon they rowed
down Sorenson [word crossed out] Westwick and
looked for Blackbirds in the other
marsh. The green reeds are much
higher, and they found few nests
They saw a female Wilson's
phalarope. I dug [word crossed out] planted the
second half of the garden in
the morning, and irrigated in
the afternoon. While I was
weeding the rhubarb Mrs. Johnson
drove by to see if we wanted to
drive up to Salt Lake to see if
it was fit for swimming. It was
beautiful - on top of the plateau
and very clear.
Betty [Cox] brought us in a brick
of ice cream from town, so we ate
dinner backwards - dessert first.
