  • Vancouver. Nov. [November] 18/43 [1943]. Parasites:- received deer eat from Game warden Clark. 196 grams from outer part of haunch. This taken at Menzies Bay. about 3 days ago. In this there were 10 tape worm cysts here + there right through the body of the muscle. Look like Taenia pisif [word crossed out] ovis. to me. Diseases:- Oct [October] 23/43 [1943]. 43.10 Fawn received from Game farm, Saanich. Thin, no fat on mesenteries or body, hocks soiled, no discharges from eyes - nose or ears. Only parasite a single cyst of C. [Cysticercus] tenuicollis [underlined]. No fluid in either peritoneal, pleural or pericardial cavities. Veins of intestine injected, inhibition pronounced. No tympanitis, contents of abomasum dry + impacted, adherent to stomach wall Diffuse inflammation of dig. [digestive] tract. Acute catarrhal enteritis, lumen filled with fibrous mucous. ulcers in cecum at entrance to intest. [intestines] + elsewhere. etc [etcetera] - see card. Diggnosis - catarrhal enteritis from faulty weaning.
