Saw 1 [male symbol], 6 [female symbol], 1 fawn. on flats at
mouth of Strawberry Creek. All were
eating grass.
Willow Creek May 19/44 [1944]
Many deer around cabin here. Counted
12 here this evening + including 1 [male symbol] , + 7 [female symbol]
another [male symbol] + 1 deer on way up making
14 [underlined twice] in all today.
Burstrom states that these deer winter
here.
Willow Creek May 20/44 [1944]
Today saw 19 deer, 10 of them [female symbol]
1 [male symbol] + 8 unidentified, all in excellent
condition.
Kills:- One deer kill of this last
winter.
Rufe Nieghbor [Neighbor] tells me that at Entrance he
has ear marked a number of young
deer. One he marked was shot at almost
the same place 5 years later; several
others have been shot + all within
the same general area.

Saw [male symbol] [female symbol] + fawn(12 months) not seen
previously.
Shot + examined the fawn; lick [?],
lungworm and Cephenemyia [underlined] abundant.
