well done + serve as a most illustrative

artistic design. Progressively a shift
toward positive, clear colors in trim design
The new one with Elizabeths signature
fresh on it is most attractive.
Dec [December] 3. London:-
Began the day by a visit + Queen's College
Dept [Department] of Anatomy where I met J.Z. [John Zachary] Young. The
building looks very fine outside but is an
unbelievable junk pile within, dirty, dingy
+ in the perennial mess that I am beginning
to associate with zoology over here. [John Zachary] Young
himself is most impressive, tall somewhat
stooped, young middle age in appearance
+ brim full of ideas. Here more than
in any of the Scottish universities I find
the subordinates springing to attention or
standing like startled sheep when the
Professor enters. It looks ludicrous to us.
[John Zachary] Young teaches no one but med [medicine] students +
they get 2 years of biology cum anatomy before
embarking on their straight medical work.
There is a lot of interesting work
going on here among the columbs [columns?] + junk
piles. [John Zachary] Young himself is continuing a special
interest in the octupus [octopus] brain + has an
