Q.C. [Queen Charlotte] city. Aug. [August] 3/46 [1946].
Found several pairs nesting on
the islets in the bay. For details see
journal of this date.
Burnaby Island - Aug. [August] 18/46 [1946].
Saw 2 young ones, the first so
far seen on salt water
this year.
Just north of the mouth of Salmon River
at Larkport [?] we noted a small nesting
colony (10-12 prs [pairs]) on an isolated rocky
islet close up against the shore. The
entire islet did not measure more
than 40 ft [feet] long but was timber
covered + steep sided.
Aug [August] 19/4. [1946].
A colony of perhaps 50 pairs on the
north face of Limestone Island just
above [word crossed out] before reaching Skidans [Skedans]. Colony
occupies the face of a small cliff.
No young birds seen.
Sandspit. Aug. [August] 26/46 [1946].
Charlie shot a young one from
the neck of the spit.
