  • May 27th [1941] Two Peromyscus [underlined] in traps. Made tour S. [south] + W. [west] of camp collecting one female Hairy woodpecker + one male Williamson's Sap-sucker. Day bright with cumulus clouds, getting threatening by night. Took colour pictures of owls, flowers, etc. Set 20 more traps for jumping mice After dark scouted up stream with light, catching 5 small Ambystoma larvae, one Rana [underlined] + one Bufo. May 28th [1941] Showers of rain commencing. Two Pero- myscus [underlined]in traps only. Others untouched or sprung. [Ian McTaggart]Cowan got 6 Perognathus [underlined] lordi- laingi [underlined] from type locality, 2 pocket gophers + 3 microtus [underlined]. In P.M. [evening] went upstream collecting 2 more toads + one Rana [underlined]. Saw Rufous Humming bird + Red tailed Hawk. Rain started heavier in evening Set traps along field about 1 1/4 along Highway toward Bridesville.
