- sandpipers nested. Saw robins
in the adjacent meadow + a
loon on the lake. There
is some sort of swallow
present I think Violet + green
+ also certainly Cliff Swallows.
July 7, 1936. 10 Mile Lake, Quesnel
Still raining off + on.
Hunted S [South] end of lake again
getting a [female symbol] Ruffed grouse,
Grinnell [Northern] water Thrush, Brewer
Blackbird + [female symbol] Red wing
Several pine siskins, crossbills
+ 2 Evening Grosbeaks flew
over camp this morning.
In afternoon went in to
Quesnel for the mail. While
there [we] saw a white crowned
sparrow with a very different
song from our coastal race
Swee [arrow up] twee [arrow down] wee wee wee wee (in descending run) [inserted above] +
a very subdued song. Pair
of Mt. [Mountain] Bluebirds seen feeding
young.
In evening heard another
Tennessee warbler + found Junco's
nest with 4 eggs.
