- July 10 Sunday. Laura went over several poems of Part IV with me. We had lunch with Miguel & Francisca Mayol Ripoll : present also Alan, Beryl, Gabriel the doctor's son, Miguel of Son Corté, Juan, Anita, Juanita, and Miguel's employé whose name I don't know who made a Majorcan rice; & we had pimientos, sobrasada , olives, wine & everything nice. Afterwards to the races trotting, gallop, curricle, steeplechase. I made 1 franc betting, Beryl made 100 Laura & I came away because it was heavy weather (with the milk turning in the cafés). Evening again with Miguel & Francisca: he talked at length about fruit and Gabriel showed his commercial diplomas.
