  • Aug 19 Thursday Went to Guildford by bus with the three children. 4 red canoes on the Wey & picnic visit to Guildford Castle. Back home by 'bus to Cranleigh. Then C. & I walked over the fields home. Finished going over Chapter V & gave Karl to type. Laura temperature & supper in bed. Ivor Morgan dead of drugs in France. Whiskeys with C.S. Evans at Bull's Head : Talk about George Ellidge & his stealing £500 of Loebs with a specially built overcoat.
