Letter from L. Button

A hand-written letter dated January 10th, 1981 from L. Button in response to a letter that Frank Sylvester wrote to Button & Son who make steam fire engines in Waterford, New York. Button states that he is an octogenarian and no longer in the business but thanks Sylvester for his letter and mentions that steam fire engines are only supposed to last 15 years and since the one in Victoria has been used for much longer than that it must be in good hands. A note in pencil reads "Answered July 11 1891".
