• Tuesday June 25 Gordon sent off by Honor to Paguera because a nuisance to her. Letter to Korda asking for information, to Amy Graves returning Jenny's letter, to Barker with formal demand, signed, for List [Verlag] 's Book of the Month Club money, for Curtis Brown to recover, to Pinker with biographical details for Albatross [edition of] Claudius the God & enclosing Journal cutting. To Cape ordering 7 Pillars. To Cook thanking for Journal cutting & asking history of Jeanne & his coolness. To Posada where in pursuance of Laura's order to have it finished in a week 9 or 10 men working. Cura cupboard plastered, Entrada done except floor, central room plastered but not floored. Midjans being raised in kitchen. Antonio Cas Pintat, the carpenter, ill. Gave his work to other capenters, who are both up to date with their work. Ordered sink to be picar'd and polished, and windowwall curved down, because of its extra size. Another version of What Then? now called Historical Particulars . Blackberries first ripe. Letter from Arnie, proposing an amnesty. Honor Mary Karl to supper. Men sprinkling carretera with stones to lay the tar. Read Honor's Life: much the best. Undertook to pay tiles for Centro Concordia: which means no charge for Posada furniture.
