Living sea 06 (1957-06-06) : life on the sand
PublicA series of documentary kinescopes with filmed inserts dealing with the sea and sea life. Hosted by Ian McTaggart-Cowan. Dr. Cowan explored different sandy beaches in British Columbia and showed the animals live in the intertidal zone. He introduced the animals without back bones, such as bubble snail, sand dollar, various types of clams and crabs. He explained how sand affected the animals’ lives in their habitat and protected them from the sunshine and enemy. He also introduced some other animals who could faster, including flatfish, sole, plaice and skate fish.
