- Jan 11 Monday. Still undecided where to go. Holland? Bordeaux? To Constable with John's second cynical wrapper of T. Ending They snapped at it. Dentist & J.F. Took Jenny's nightdresses to wash: lost them. Reported at Police station. (Never got them back) David Reeves brought jewel case: still has cover to make & 2 trays. Gave him Bible in Spain : had never heard of it. Back in my own bedroom. Wrote to Rose Macaulay who asked me to contribute to pet-fallacies volume that [is] to be sandwiched between Gerhardt & A.P.Herbert gave me a Golgotha feeling. Laura wrote to V. Gollancz breaking off cordial relations.
