- Monday July 1 To Palma, Laura & I alone for a change. Saw Sabater about quotation marks, bought bathing trunks with zip, fans (3) & open work gloves (5p[ts] ) for Laura, also white bead-purse with gold bead design 15 pesetas Ice-cream container, 17p[ts]. And got Frau Thelin Thelen 23 Calle General Barcelo to undertake translation, rough, of Schw. work for 200 pesetas; 50 paid on a/c. Bought nothing old. Took Schw & Strenge back. Str. complain complained of what Carl said to Emmerich. Settled between them after. Carl wrapped Focus up. I checked Progress of Stories final proofs: only 1 error, but every recomposed line short by one hair space.
