PublicInterviewer: Jack Withers Interviewee: Retired Rear Admiral Russell Moore, 1944- An interview/narrative of Russell Moore's experiences serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. Interview took place on March 18, 2022 over a video call. ABSTRACT: The interview begins with Russell Moore giving an overview of his career, before shifting to the question of life in the Junior and later Senior ranks of the navy. Moore speaks on the challenges of commanding the first mixed-gender warship of Canada, HMCS Provider, and the continued evolution of the RCN during his career. Differences between the two navies are then discussed, and Moore speaks on his time commanding the Maritime Forces Pacific. The topic then turns to the significance of the Persian Gulf deployments, before Moore addresses perceptions of the Pacific fleet.
