- Ap 21 Friday Talking & sitting about with David – last English newspapers. Sailed at 9.30 last of England (Devon ?) about 5.30. Tried a cinema: French Napoleon III – went out. Saw Lindbergh children at play in 1st Class. Sea very calm. Last sight of English coast – light-houses – at supper. We put back our watches 1 hour every midnight. German refugees read books about Hitler regime. 'Horse-racing' in the lounge.
