  • July 9th Tuesday To Posada with list of things to do. Saw that electric light was put up right. Various small fixing jobs. Miguel painting shutters, paint short. Ordered steps up into garden, sink-cupboard catch, 7 estacas , primus board. Solomon ate sofa cover for second time. Paid baker 115 p[ts]. Honor not well. In afternoon did drafts of blurbs for Epilogue , Moon's No Fool , James's Poems . To Str & Schw. Posada again Estanco to buy things for farewell supper to Carl & Gordon. New pine crush drink. After supper truth game: not very hot except exchanges between Gordon & Mary about his references to her in the 'Life'. Commissioned Carl to buy us nice things in Ibiza if he saw any. Wrote to A.G. & to Mrs Ashby (who thinks my epitaph what was needed) & is consulting mediums. Posted 15th Then at 1 pm [am?] Laura read me her new Troy chapter until 3. Gelat watering mandarins with long hose, syphon-system from the Torrent. Apparently the spy wasn't the Colonel after all.
