- Sept 16 Thursday It was a fine thunder showery day. We spent the morning in Southampton where I (at Gieves) ordered 2 pairs of corduroy trousers: grey & brown; & roast beef lunch there at Bursledon , & drove back in the rain: looking at ribbon architecture. Stomach upset by the drive. 5 pages of Belisarius , & going over last 3 day's' work. Margaret & Leonard's last evening. Alan returned.
