Letter from Montgomery Belgion to Herbert Read, December 31, 1963

Public

One of a pair of letters to Sir Herbert Read from Montgomery Belgion; a journalist, literary critic, and editor, who also fought in both World Wars. In this letter, Belgion thanks Read for sending a book (written by Read apparently) for Christmas, and that both he and his wife enjoyed reading it. He goes on to compliment Read on balancing the divergent opinions of Beyle and Byron in the book. Belgion closes the letter by confirming Read's address at Wesleyan University for the following several months and passes on well wishes for the new year from his wife.
