- Sunday July 3rd Letters Went all afternoon with Laura Alan Beryl to various country villages in the northern neighbourhood of Rennes: Lifferés Liffrés , two Aubignies, Hédé, Bécherelle looking perhaps for a country house. Bécherelle the nicest. In evening explored northern quarter of Rennes, looking for a town house. I taught them Nap. Lost my cigarette lighter (Dunhill) finally: dates from Christmas 1936.
