The Provincial Normal School (PNS) was established in Victoria, B.C., in January 1915, to provide preliminary and advanced courses in teacher training. In 1978, Judith Windle conducted 19 interviews in which former instructors and students discussed their experiences at the Provincial Normal School. This interview is the Brands discussing their time at the Provincial Normal School, in Victoria, B.C., as students (1922-1923) and instructors (1947-56). Subjects include the Literary Society, teaching jobs, pay, country schools, practice teaching, summer school, registration, social activities, and faculty.
