Bulldozer - No. 02, Spring 1981

An anarchist publication from Toronto made to support prisoners in various penal institutions. It began in 1980 and featured articles, letters, art, poetry etc. by prisoners and ex-prisoners. By Spring 1997 it had incorporated another journal called the Prison News Service and began to focus more on justice-related issues in Canada, namely: prisons, local jails, refugee detention centres, and First Nations self-determination. In this issue: "Communication and repression"; "Clockwork orange"; "Frame up!"; "I'm flying higher than you" [poem] by Rick Levesque; "Prelude to Dorchester hostage-taking"; "Open letter to Kaplan"; "A call to all Native Indians"; "Is this the humane way? or...is this the American way?"; "Enemy of the sun" [poem] by Sameeh Al-Quassem; "Homage to Bobby Gene Garcia" by Standing Deer; "Discrimination suit"; "The birth of hatred"; "Cries for help ignored"; "On the run"; "Responses to tunnel vision"; "The law (which is not concerned with truth and justice)" by Carl Harp; "The rose of Dresden" by Standing Deer; "The bellower's education" [poem by] Karen Batton; "Fuck you" [poem by] Freddie Jo Morry, Archimbault; "Dreams" [poem by] Gypsy Chaboyer, Kingston; "Transfer from Springfield".
