Letter from Thurairajah Tambimuttu to Robin Skelton, July 13, 1955
Part of a collection of correspondence to Robin Skelton from Thurairajah Tambimuttu, a critic, editor, and publisher, well known for founding the “Poetry London” and Poetry London - New York” magazines, as well as establishing two publishing houses. Tambimuttu also wrote poetry. The letters primarily discuss poetry, publishing, and Skelton’s contributions to Tambimuttu’s various publishing enterprises. In this letter, Tambimuttu thanks Skelton for sending some poems and asks if the publisher of Skelton's first book would be willing to sell 200 copies with the Poetry London - New York imprint. Tambimuttu also writes that any poems sent should not have been already published in England, and declares that it is worth Skelton's while to send only new poems because Poetry London- New York pays more.
