  • Wed. 25 Nov Watt sent typed letters of T.E. to me. They are being offered to Messrs Walt Maggs for sale. Telephone talk with Sally. Took Ward's photograph of Alice to be passe-partouted and accidently met Len: he came home to lunch & discussed the international situation (which absorbs everything) Thinking that England would isolate Italy from Germany and attack her within 3 months. L & I said no, no war. [*] Had tooth out: left molar, with injection. The dentist expected an hour's work; but it came out all in one, not in pieces. Jenny to supper: discussed the question of her living alone. Wanted to remain at Curzon House, but for the thefts. Maisie afterwards: Laura discussing with her appropriate action in present crisis. [*] Going over another (rewritten) chapter of ' The Heathen '.
