- Friday Dec 18 Met Sam at Charing Cross & found Catherine at flat when I came back. Took them Christmas shopping in neighbourhood. Sam gave me red leather note case, & Catherine a key ring. Sam gave Laura Red Geranium scent – Catherine a small steel box with a blue agate top. Karl took them to Ward to be photographed, then Laura took them for more shopping, then I saw them off to Wiltshire, in same carriage with Biddy Lloyd. To Dentist for stopping that had come out. Black rang up to apologise for contract affair. Norman to supper. No more appetite for cigarettes.
