ABSTRACT: 0:00 – 0:33 – Introductions 0:34 – 1:20 – Born in Ireland, growing up and schooling in Toronto and joined the Army. 1:21 – 8:51 – Joining the Armed Forces, Reserves, training, career and places served in. 9:11 – 13:46 – Cyprus, Experience leading a rifle company in Nicosia maintaining the UN buffer zone. 13:48 – 25:22 – Afghanistan, working with political advisors in ISAF headquarters in Kabul. 25:25 – 29:05 – Classifying Cyprus and Afghanistan as peacekeeping, peacemaking and counter-insurgency. Differences between peacekeeping and counter-insurgency, state building. 29:06 – 33:52 – Differences between peacekeeping, military peace and counter-insurgency.
