- March 27 Wednesday Hot. First day of straw-hats & sun-glasses. Went over typed fifth chapter of Antigua . Gelat, Amador, Sebastian, Miguel the carpenter worked all day on putting up wooden horizontals of vine-arbour. I blackpainted Salamó's kennel, which the girls had whitewashed inside. Went with him to Calabat to pay for a chicken (8.5O pts at 2pts the tercia) and order another for tomorrow. Amador started to creosote the arbour. Gelat brought his account. 4882 pesetas for 4 months including wages, mortgage payments, carpenters, Salamo, patent boiler, & stove. 2 more Focus to Honor. Bath. Cura may evacuate Posada if recompensed; Pepe's mediation. 2 Second Leaf to Michael Roberts.
