• Dec 9 Thursday Friday Dictionary : Ghost ; finished first draft of Chapter XI; started through it again. Laura worked until 2 am. Then I got her a bath, then she worked on until 4. She has done 190 pages of Lives of Wives and all but finished the Macedonian part: then has Herod's wives to do: another 60 pages. Alan & Beryl went to a village-film show. Highlanders on skis with Italian & French trimmings and a German actress-heroine.
