An interview/narrative of Lieutenant Colonel Reverend Alex and Molly Reid's experiences during the Cold War. Interview took place on November 16, 2007.
ABSTRACT: Interview with Lt.Col. Rev. Alex Reid and Mrs. Molly Reid, 16 November 2007 Alex Reid born in Nova Scotia. Attended Mt Allison University and was ordained a United Church Minister in 1950. Joined the Regular Force in 1955. Molly Reid born in Quebec, uncles in World War I. Alex had several cousins serve in World War II. (143) Wanted to join military to supplement income, started in the Militia. (168) Molly prompts him to join the Regular Force. Molly aware early that she did not want to be an ordinary Minister’s Wife- Forces offer new chances. Posted from Halifax to Victoria with PPCLI at Camp Gordon Head, upon arrival is informed that Camp was newly purchased by the University of Victoria. Served tour in the Congo. Family posted to Europe, Molly involved in interior design for military and civilian clients. 32 houses over course of career. Molly- role as Minister’s wife involves counselling of her own- incidents.
