- Thursday. Oct 22 Up early to work. Worked all morning. Stuff called for at 12. (50 more pages) Lunch with John G. & Jenny, etc. L, at Prada's. Discussed the Diana situation. In afternoon more work. Dinner with Kyllmann, Tom, Julie, Laura at Escargot (Armagnac brandy) & best food yet in London. Then to Nottinghill Gate to the Bill Fuller & his mother – present Bridget, a bad modernist clergyman called John Palmer* (who reads Laura) a lawyer Wilson & American wife. Laura very tired. Nobody doing atalking of anything but Mrs. Simpson. Bed at 12 * Of course down our street we all knew who killed the Bobby but we didn't let on.
