England, John: my RCAF experience (March 9, 2019)

ABSTRACT: Over the course of nearly an hour Mr. England recounted numerous instances regarding his life in the military and the path leading to it. He began talking about his early life, the effect of the Second World War on his and others’ families. This transitioned into telling about his enlistment for national service, transfer to Canada, and the effect that had on his relationships with loved ones. He then spoke about training in Canada, followed by his deployment to England with the 1 Canadian Air Division. He then spoke about the Sabre, and conditions for RCAF pilots in Europe. He also relived his story involving an engine failure in a CF-104 Starfighter.
