- July 14 Sunday Miguel fixed drawer in entrada table from the one sent to Posada. Worked on Richards , checking James' poem proofs. To sea with Solomon; brought back white corals, fishermens reels for insulating ice-chest etc. All afternoon on poem proofs: supper in comedor at the Posada, which Laura saw as something ready for the first time, & was pleased. Honor had started 'Poets'. Decided on central light for entrada & place for plates. Also name for Lives: "By Each in Turn" – unsigned. The brightest moon view from Posada I have ever seen, the moon in a hollow of the hills. Contract from Constables. Wrote to Richards a list of questions to supplement first chapter. More work on Richards after completing poems – which Laura then went over, then we checked together doubtful points & sent wrote detailed printing instructions to Sabater: for Juan to call for at 7. We finished at 3.45 A.M. then had chicken rice breakfast, at which Laura decided to postpone Cressida until New Year. Bed at 4 a.m.
