- Ap 5 Wed The vet Monsieur Fouerés from Medréc came to see Nono to write a certificate for his entry into United States But Nono hid among/the rafters of the chapel, & he had to go away. To Rennes: saw Joän & Dolores off (Alan manfully dared to kiss J. goodbye). We lent them another £10. Anita's baby has turned the right way up: to everyone's great relief – expected any day now. She refused to let us pay our fruit-bill. In Rennes bought socks, goloshes, a jersey; L bought a red parasol Laura very tired indeed. Passed crowds of priests on outskirts of Rennes.
