Letter from Saul Holiff to Johnny Cash, 27 December 1961

Letter from Saul Holiff to Johnny Cash addressed to "Small Sad Sam." Holiff mentions a poem Barbara wrote him called "Mister 17," tranquilizers he ordered, and his recent conversation with Columbia Records executive Dave Kapralik. Tells Cash he will write to Goddard Lieberson, President of Columbia Records, about plans for show at Carnegie Hall. Refers to a film being "terrific" (possibly "Five Minutes to Live," Cash's first movie, which was released in 1961). Says how pleased he is with Cash's attitude and that he believes Cash has the potential for great success. Signed "Preacher Holiff."
