ABSTRACT: Sergeant William Willbond William Willbond was born September 28, 1941 in Ontario. Joining the military in 1958 at just 17 years of age, he was posted overseas in 1960 during the Cold War and served with the United Nations in Cyprus in 1965. Served with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada and Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and was named to the Special Service Force late in his career.. He had close bonds with many of the men he served with, bonds that he believed to be unique and exclusive to the military.

An interview/narrative of William Willbond's experiences during the Cold War and whilst serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus. Sergeant Willbond served with the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada and Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Interview took place on November 16, 2009.
