Postcard from A. R. Orage to Herbert Read, August 26, 1921

Public

Part of a collection of correspondence between Sir Herbert Read and Alfred Richard Orage. Orage is most well-known for editing the magazine “The New Age”. These letters, spanning 1921 and 1922, primarily discuss Read’s work as a Readers and Writers columnist for the magazine in that time. In these letters Orage also frequently mentions P. D. Ouspensky, who studied under philosopher G. I. Gurdjieff. In 1922 Orage sold “The New Age” and moved to Paris in order to also study under Gurdjieff. In this postcard, Orage gives some advice on the Readers and Writers column.
