- Aug 11 Wed. We went to MacCormacks at Old Burseldon: Harry driving – L. Karl & me. via Haslemere, Liphook, Petersfield, Waterlooville, Fareham. They gave me a New Zealand bow which is very stiff & awkward to string but a 'real museum piece' and Laura a pinchbeck necklace that had belonged to Mr Violet's grandmother who if living now would be 120 years old. Mrs. Jones left us today. A little work on Belisarius but resting eyes of strain: Marble game with Harry – smallest number of moves to cross over two sets: 15 could not be bettered.
