An interview/narrative of Major Joan Clement's experiences whilst serving with the Canadian Forces Medical Service. Interview took place on March 7, 2012.

ABSTRACT: To begin, Major Clement told me a little bit about her background, including her education and assignment to Egypt and explained her first impressions of Egypt when she arrived. Following this, Major Clement spoke about her duties and the community that formed within the logistics personnel, including the medications and health issues that targeted troops in Egypt, as well as the difficulties with UN supplies and supply lines. Major Clement then spoke about the travelling she did while she was serving in Egypt, including trips to Jerusalem and Cyprus. She then spoke about the relationship between the UN and Canadian troops, including some of the difficulties that come up from the fact that the UN is a civilian organization working with military organizations.
