Photo of Victor E. Wong taken in Vancouver, B.C. before departing overseas. Wong is dressed in his army attire. When war was declared in 1939, more than 600 Chinese Canadians volunteered to fight for Canada. They became part of an elite unit known as the Special Force 136 of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and the South East Asia Combat (SEAC) under Lord Mountbatten. Scanned for Victor E.
