• Feb 22 Wednesday Joyce went: thank God. Beryl's Birthday. She had a cake with 24 Tomes de Beryl on it and champagne from Alan & Dorothy; [sketch of round bracelet?] the red & green glass bangle from Laura & my tortoiseshell st brooch from me. We played an election game in the evening with nominations & balloting. Champagne. Dictionary The Left Heresy proofs came: I read some. Alan has Joyce's flu.
