- Wednesday Nov 18 To dentist: a tooth stopped. Boil much better, after several days rest. Laura went to see John and brought back Troy sketches of his. I bought draught-box for my pins & studs; 5/-. Robin & Sally to tea: met for first time. Marriage discussed: Sally will not change name. The day of Salengro's suicide, formal line up of Italy, Germany, Japan, recognition of Franco by Hitler & Mussolini. Landlord came. Undertook to stop noise. Saw John at nursing home, rather dazed (by adrenalin?) & supper with Maisie & Douglas West. Heard Neusal-Foord fight on radio & news. Talk about international politics — will Franco have to have overt help from Italy & Germany? If so, what?
