Transcript
  • Oct 15 Saturday Finished Worm Gods after a lot of work. Dictionary with Alan. Laura Dorothy Beryl & David went in a car to Montauban – Alan's birthday tomorrow – while Alan & I went to St Uniac saw the sacred well & played Russian billiards (1 franc a time) at the pub. Boiled chestnuts from our trees, and apple charlotte, and rabbit pâté from the Hotel Ouest. T.L.S. did not print my letter but wrote a smarmy letter to me. I replied hotly. We made up a sentence each adding a word: 'Let none of us further further allow ourselves to consider the Germans.' Fullstop by Beryl.
