- Monday Jan 30 All day on Lives of Wives : finished my reading of Herod at 1.15 am. There was a car-ride to Montauban to fetch paraffin & Alan & I played Russian Billiards Otherwise nothing except the death of Yeats: greeted with satisfaction. Laura joked 'Has lunch been denounced' I: “Only unilaterally.” Beryl, Alan, Dorothy & I play four-handed Cambeluk now in the new board.
