An interview/narrative of Lieutenant-Colonel Julian Berezowski's experiences during the October Crisis of 1970. Interview took place on November 10, 2006.

ABSTRACT: Lieutenant-Colonel J.C. Berezowski Born 19 February 1929. Was the command duty officer in the command centre in Mobile Command Headquarters during the 1970 FLQ Crisis. Speaks of Operation Essay (Montreal) versus Operation Ginger (Ottawa). Goes through a detailed timeline from when the War Measures Act was declared on 16 October. Speaks in detail about "authentication code drill" in Mobile Command Headquarters. Refers to lack of police intelligence during the crisis. Tells a story of entering Montreal and seeing supportive citizens on St. Denis. Speaks of Lieutenant-General Turcot's reluctance to work with the police because they might "repay old political debts." Tells a story of how traverses carrying major hydro lines were guarded and one night were shot at. Speaks of Afghanistan and what the government might do today in similar circumstances.
