ABSTRACT: Hartland Finley This interview was of tactical airpower. It starts with an in-depth look at the history of Mr. Finley's childhood and military history. His father fought in World War I. Mr. Finley then goes onto talk about his training and how he was made a flight instructor because he was a good football player and that particular base "drafted" him for that reason, before he was sent overseas to fight in Europe. He eventually became a squadron leader. Mr. Finley was shot down twice and had to use his training to evade the enemy and survive. He tells some stories of his training and of his experiences in battle.
