• Oct 9 Sunday A letter from Juan Joan Junyer asking for a mirror for a friend's purse and some chocolate. A stinking review in T.L.S. of Laura's poems: to which I replied suitably. Swiss Ghost , Dictionary . Greeks & Trojans Warm, windy, bad day. Talk of Mussolini withdrawing troops & material from Spain. Worked all day and until 1.15 am.
