De Proprietatibus Rerum (On the Properties of Things)
PublicAn early forerunner of the encyclopedia, De Proprietatibus Rerum dates from the 13th century and is often described as a bestiary although its focus encompasses theology and astrology as well as the natural sciences (as understood in 1240).
