Taken November 11, 1972. During the World War II, more than 600 Chinese Canadians volunteered to fight for Canada. They became part of an elite unit known as the Special Force 136 of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) and the South East Asia Combat (SEAC) under Lord Mountbatten. The Victoria Chinese Canadian Veterans Association was founded on Oct.1, 1967. Since that time its members have been a regular feature of Victoria Day parades and wreath-laying ceremonies on Remembrance Day. Scanned item for Victor E. Wong/Chinese Veteran's collection.
