Transcript
  • March 28 Thursday Miguel & Amador working at the grotto grape-arbour: I creosoted the big one, from 8 to 1 and 1.3O to 2.3O. Got creosote in my eyes which inflamed them and spoilt a shirt (which however can now be used for dirty: to match my painting trousers). Uneconomical to do this work: but Gelat said I couldn't get it done before he returned with the camión. Franciscita and her mother came. Carl took Salamo for his walk because I was busy. Laura wrote to Michael Roberts on our joint behalf. Did a few pages of Ch.6 of Antigua & gave them to Karl to type. Chick Telegram about Honor's baby. Replied. Notice from solicitor about James Tait Black Memorial Prize: will remit money if I accept. Accepted. Wrote to Harrison Smith & Middleditch informing. Thanked Contract for Claudius film from Elliot with its refrain “all territories & countries in the world except Majorca.” Thanked, & congratulated Buchan about Canada.
